Position Overview

We are seeking an AV Systems Integration Specialist to join our team, providing essential technical support through the configuration, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of various audio and visual equipment utilized in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and commission integrated audio/video systems.
  • Interpret electronic schematics, single line drawings, and architectural blueprints for system installation and configuration.
  • Conduct testing of integrated systems and perform troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Develop code for DSP systems (Q-Sys and Biamp) and basic integrated control systems (Crestron).
  • Perform post-installation testing of equipment and control programs, troubleshooting as needed.
  • Provide training for end users on the operation of audio and visual systems and equipment.
  • Gather knowledge of audio/video requirements for future installations through client or team discussions.
  • Act as a liaison with vendors regarding system integration and installation processes.
  • Execute corrective and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment related to audio and visual systems to ensure continuous operability.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures for service events, including onsite work and administrative tasks associated with technical work, ensuring completion of reports for each assignment.
  • Contribute to the development of annual plans by providing status reports on systems and equipment, relaying relevant information on trends in audio and visual systems.
  • Observe safety precautions and requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of audio, video, control, and user interface concepts. Proficient in audio and video signal routing. Advanced PC knowledge, including communication methods between PC and devices. Ability to integrate and learn new IP technology and systems. Knowledge of DSP layout and programming. Experience in A/V equipment repair using basic and micro tools, multi-meters, and soldering equipment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient troubleshooting abilities to resolve installation issues with complex audio and visual systems; capable of determining effective courses of action to restore operability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science, along with certifications in software programming for languages such as "Basic", "C", "SIMPL", or other relevant certifications demonstrating knowledge of logic programming. A minimum of 3+ years of installation and configuration experience with AV systems is preferred. Coursework or certification in Q-Sys, Crestron, Biamp, or related technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 45 pounds independently and up to 90 pounds with assistance. Ability to crawl, kneel, and climb ladders for equipment installation.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
