Position Overview:

This role is a Day/Evening Position within a dedicated acute care medical unit, focusing on delivering exceptional and compassionate care to a diverse adult and geriatric patient demographic. The unit is equipped to handle a variety of medical conditions, particularly those related to endocrine, integumentary, gastrointestinal, renal, respiratory, and genitourinary systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively as a member of the healthcare team, utilizing sound nursing judgment based on education, experience, and competency.
  • Engage in the planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care through focused evaluations in various healthcare settings.
  • Communicate with registered nurses and healthcare team members to address any care needs that exceed the scope of practical nursing.
  • Document patient conditions comprehensively to enhance communication among caregivers.
  • Participate in unit activities and assist team members to foster a supportive work environment.
  • Provide education to patients and families to facilitate a smooth transition through the care process.
  • Support the orientation and development of new nursing staff.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a state-approved Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Completion of an IV therapy curriculum within a specified timeframe upon hire.
  • Ability to perform nursing duties at the highest level of licensure in a medical/surgical or emergency department setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of patient care across various age groups and the ability to assess individual patient needs.

Engage in continuous professional improvement by seeking feedback and participating in organizational learning opportunities. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance patient care quality and safety.
