As an A&P Mechanic - APU, your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine maintenance and comprehensive inspections on turbofan and turboprop aircraft. This role encompasses troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft components. Additionally, you will handle engine removal and reinstallation, operational checks, leak assessments, and engine runs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute routine maintenance and major inspections on Honeywell engine types and models.
• Disassemble and reassemble Honeywell engine types and models.
• Remove and reinstall engines on aircraft for significant periodic inspections and core zone evaluations.
• Conduct incoming and outgoing engine runs and line maintenance as necessary.
• Perform all aspects of airframe removal and reinstallation, along with engine inspection and repair during road trips to support customer aircraft.
• May undertake additional duties as required by the department.
• Inspect aircraft/engine per OEM Light or Heavy Maintenance manuals.
• Assess removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies.
• Troubleshoot and repair engines as necessary.
• Accurately document all work performed.
• Complete Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and Airworthiness Directives as required.
• Interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, technical manuals, and schematic diagrams when necessary.
• Adhere to and promote company policies and procedures while striving for continuous improvement.
• Utilize mechanics' hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges, and calibration test equipment.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and general housekeeping protocols.
• May perform other duties as required by the department.
Qualifications:
• High School diploma (or GED) and a valid FAA-approved Powerplant license (A&P preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of APU experience.
- A valid FAA Powerplant certificate is required, with appropriate certification in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65.
- Proven technical ability on specific airframes and engines in inspections, maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, and repairs.
- Ability to locate and apply FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, Notices, etc.
- Capability to prioritize and organize work activities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for interaction with customers and colleagues.
- Authorization to work in the United States is necessary.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
- Ability to think clearly and communicate effectively both in person and over the phone.
- Proficiency in handling equipment of various sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination is essential.
