Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Examine patients and perform comprehensive physical examinations, compiling patient medical data and differentiating between normal and abnormal information contained in test results.
    • Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, laboratory, and other ancillary services as appropriate.
    • Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and managing infections within the scope of licensure and expertise level of the supervising physician.
    • Formulate diagnoses of medical problems, develop, implement, and monitor patient care plans, record progress notes, and assist in the provision of continuity of care.
  • Education and Counseling
    • Instruct and counsel patients and families regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
    • Refers patients to other healthcare providers and appropriate sources of care as necessary.
  • Professional Development
    • Identify needs and set goals for own growth and development, meeting all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
    • Acquire knowledge and skills essential to incorporating into practice proven new evaluation/treatment modalities.
  • Quality Improvement
    • Utilize performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality, participating in the continued program development and marketing of service line.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Maintain competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency environmental, employee, or patient safety standards relevant to job performance.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.
    • Certifications and Licenses
      • Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
      • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a current Montana and/or Wyoming Board of Nursing License as an advanced practice nurse.
      • Current Montana and/or Wyoming license as a Registered Nurse as appropriate to service area.
    • Additional Requirements
      • Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.
