Occupational Therapy Assistant

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) performs patient-related activities, including purposeful interventions to maximize independence and health. Services may include assisting with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures, observing and recording patient reactions and responses, and consulting with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals as needed.
COTA Major Duties and Critical Tasks- Assisting the occupational therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures
- Observing, recording, and reporting patient reactions and responses
- Assisting with patient consultations and healthcare professional interactions
- Maintaining the occupational therapy department and equipment
- Participating in in-service programs and meetings as assigned
