Job Title: NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector to join our team at S&ME, Inc.

About the Role:

As an NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity of our construction projects. You will be responsible for performing advanced non-destructive tests and evaluations on various construction materials and structures, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to detect defects and irregularities.

You will collaborate with our skilled engineering team to accurately interpret and report findings while ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety protocols. Additionally, you will coordinate and manage testing assignments, maintain testing equipment, and conduct fieldwork, which includes safely climbing steel structures such as buildings, cell phone towers, and water tanks up to heights exceeding 200 feet.

Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced non-destructive tests and evaluations on construction materials and structures
• Collaborate with engineering team to interpret and report findings
• Coordinate and manage testing assignments
• Maintain testing equipment and conduct fieldwork
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and safety protocols

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• At least 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an associate degree
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
• ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method
• Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training
• Experience in the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:

• Ability to climb heights over 200 feet
• Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
• Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
• Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
