Welcome to WVU Medicine, where we're dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients. As a Physical Therapist in our Home Care team, you'll play a vital role in helping patients recover from injuries or illnesses and regain their independence.

As a Physical Therapist, you'll be responsible for evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and providing hands-on therapy to help them achieve their goals. You'll work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care that addresses their physical, emotional, and social needs.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating patients to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and developing personalized treatment plans to help them achieve their goals.
  • Providing physical therapy services, including exercises, stretches, and other interventions to help patients recover from injuries or illnesses.
  • Working with patients to educate them on proper techniques and strategies for managing their condition and preventing future injuries.
  • Collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care that addresses their physical, emotional, and social needs.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of West Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to patient homes and other locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in home care or a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy modalities and techniques.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.

Work Environment:

As a Physical Therapist with WVU Medicine, you'll work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. You'll work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care that addresses their physical, emotional, and social needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling are necessary body movements utilized in performing duties throughout the work shift.
  • Must be able to lift, move, and position patients of all weights, with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Visual acuity must be within normal range.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work; exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
