**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Obstetrics.

**Responsibilities:**

* Assist Physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) and nursing personnel before, during, and after deliveries
* Inventory, rotate, maintain, and restock supplies, instruments, and equipment in appropriate areas as needed
* Pick up and deliver specimens, equipment, meal trays, blood products, and stat pharmacy orders
* Answer telephone, take and relay messages, and sort and file reports
* Answer patient call lights, take patient vital signs, and assist with patient hygiene as directed by an RN
* Provide assistance as necessary to surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, anticipating, and passing surgical instruments, medical supplies, equipment, and provide retraction under the direction of the surgeon
* Maintain highest standard of aseptic technique during all operative procedures, including surgical attire, surgical hand scrub, surgical gowning of self and team, surgical gloving of self and team, boundary between sterile and non-sterile areas, and traffic patterns
* Identify breaches in aseptic technique and implement interventions for resolution
* Perform all phases of reprocessing including decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, documentation, and problem resolution for parameter failure

**Requirements:**

* Completion of an accredited Associate's degree in Surgical Technology
* One-year Surg Tech experience preferred

**Work Environment:**

* Full time
* 36 hours per week
* Night shift
