Medical Imaging Nurse

As a Registered Nurse Medical Imaging PRN, you will provide nursing support to all modalities of the Imaging Services Department. Your responsibilities will include patient care management, patient assessment, education, and follow-up. You will also provide conscious sedation care, pharmacology, and manage supplies. This role requires you to scrub in with the Radiologist and assist with basic interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate.
- Seek and evaluate information acquired from other members of the interdisciplinary team, including patients, families, physicians, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop individualized plans of care using assessment information and critical thinking skills, actively involving patients and families in the planning process.
- Implement care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions, directing the interdisciplinary care team as needed.
- Evaluate patient response to interventions through review of achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, patient and family satisfaction, and revise the plan of care as indicated.
- Promote nursing professionalism and participate in the development of others, integrating legal and ethical standards into practice.
- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and preparation for exams, pre-Op and Post-Op care of patients for interventional procedures, and assist Radiologists in basic interventional procedures.
- Provide patient care management, including conscious sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, patient care assessment, and ECG interpretation, and complete room preparation and turnover for all interventional procedures.
- May perform PICC line insertions and/or central line, successfully complete angio and interventional exams, remove tunnel catheters, and scrub in and support Radiologists during procedures.
- Current State RN license.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (preferred).
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
