Farm Crew Leader

Alameda Point Collaborative (APC) is a leading organization in the fight against homelessness, providing supportive housing and services to empower individuals and families to thrive. Our Farm2Market initiative is a social enterprise that combines sustainable agriculture with workforce development, offering a unique opportunity for individuals to gain skills and experience in the agricultural industry.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Farm Crew Leader to join our team. As a key member of our farm operations team, you will be responsible for leading farm projects, collaborating with staff and volunteers, and ensuring the smooth operation of our farm.

• Lead farm projects and collaborate with staff and volunteers to achieve production goals
• Participate in daily and annual farm upkeep, including planting, weeding, fertilizing, harvesting, and pest management
• Share responsibility for meeting production commitments for our 30-member CSA program
• Lead groups of volunteers during open volunteer hours and help host CSA pickup
• Attend regular meetings and submit timecards, receipts, and time off requests in a timely manner

• 2+ years of experience in farm production or related agricultural work
• Ability to perform physical labor related to farm production activities, including lifting up to 30-50 pounds
• Experience working in a team environment and ability to communicate effectively with staff and volunteers
• Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
• Must be available to work 5 days a week, 9:00 am-3:30 pm, Tuesday-Saturday

• Experience with regenerative agriculture and fruit tree management
• Ability to operate farm machinery and power tools, such as rototillers and weed whackers
• Experience with building and construction trades

Salary: $21-23/hour, 30 hours/week, with 50% of an employee health, dental, and vision benefits package, plus farm produce and a free AC Transit EasyPass card.
