About the Role

As a Staff Psychologist with the Veterans Health Administration, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality mental health services to our nation's veterans. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Job Summary

The Staff Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for various mental health conditions. You will conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions, as well as provide consultation and education to other healthcare providers. Additionally, you will participate in program development and evaluation, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychological evaluations, including interviews, observations, and standardized assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient-centered care.
  • Provide psychotherapy, counseling, and coaching services to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and evaluation activities.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level.
  • Experience working with veterans or individuals with mental health conditions is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
