Tax Counsel

Vested Search is thrilled to partner with a globally established private equity and alternative investment fund to hire a newly created Tax Counsel opportunity into their West Coast HQ.
This role will join an established global tax and legal function with a remit across private equity, credit, and real asset investments. The Tax Counsel will work directly with the Global Head of Tax and focus specifically on both tax legal support for transactions and fund structuring/formation across the asset portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct engagement with partners, shareholders, and investment teams on tax structuring and due diligence support on products within the asset portfolio.
- Wider support in tax across the investment journey to include acquisitions, dispositions, spin-offs, and refinancing.
- Work with senior leadership team and Head of Tax on tax strategy at a global level.
- International and non-US tax support ad-hoc, working closely with investment teams and tax teams in other offices.
- Work with teams in tax compliance across various workstreams to include tax audits, IRS engagement, compliance processes for structuring/transactions within the asset portfolio.
Requirements:
- JD qualified with strong structuring/tax advisory experience servicing the asset management industry.
- Preference for individuals coming from a law firm background, but JD qualified tax individuals from public accounting will also be considered.
