The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a banquet or event, ensuring a high level of quality and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Execution: Coordinate with event planners and clients to ensure that all event details are met and exceeded.
- Staff Management: Supervise and train banquet staff to ensure that they are providing excellent customer service and meeting the high standards of the hotel.
- Food and Beverage Service: Oversee the preparation and presentation of food and beverages, ensuring that they are of high quality and presented in a timely manner.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to event clients and guests, responding promptly to their needs and concerns.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring that they are adequate for events and minimizing waste.
- Financial Management: Manage event budgets and ensure that expenses are within budget.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with event planners, clients, and staff to ensure that all event details are met and exceeded.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: One to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications: Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification, valid Managers ServSafe Certification, and valid Alcohol Service Permit.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency, including email, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Schedule+, as well as working knowledge of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
- Personal Qualities: Previous supervisory experience, knowledge of food and beverage operation and preparation, cash handling abilities, basic math skills, ability to work a variable schedule, good verbal and written communication skills, and a flexible schedule.
