Job Summary:

The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a banquet or event, ensuring a high level of quality and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning and Execution: Coordinate with event planners and clients to ensure that all event details are met and exceeded.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and train banquet staff to ensure that they are providing excellent customer service and meeting the high standards of the hotel.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Oversee the preparation and presentation of food and beverages, ensuring that they are of high quality and presented in a timely manner.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to event clients and guests, responding promptly to their needs and concerns.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring that they are adequate for events and minimizing waste.
  • Financial Management: Manage event budgets and ensure that expenses are within budget.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with event planners, clients, and staff to ensure that all event details are met and exceeded.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: One to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification, valid Managers ServSafe Certification, and valid Alcohol Service Permit.
  • Skills: Basic computer proficiency, including email, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Schedule+, as well as working knowledge of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
  • Personal Qualities: Previous supervisory experience, knowledge of food and beverage operation and preparation, cash handling abilities, basic math skills, ability to work a variable schedule, good verbal and written communication skills, and a flexible schedule.
