Advanced Automotive Technician

As a Senior Global Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance services for the FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support machinery. Your role will involve preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and thorough documentation of all work performed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute timely and efficient maintenance tasks on vehicles and equipment.
- Document all repairs and parts orders utilizing FedEx's computer systems.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to a team of technicians and trainees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Vocational training from an accredited automotive-related institution is preferred.
- ASE Master certification is an advantage.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of four (4) years of advanced technical repair and maintenance experience in fleet, automotive, or truck vehicles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in the operation and use of all equipment and testing tools related to troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, gasoline, diesel, electric, and/or hybrid motorized equipment.
- Strong computer skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
Job Conditions:
- Must possess a basic set of automotive hand tools, including metric sizes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and manage heavier weights with assistance regularly.
- Capable of working independently for extended periods.
- Must be comfortable working in a noisy environment without climate control.
- Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Flexibility to work various shifts is required.
- A valid driver's license in the state of residence is mandatory.
- Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- A medical examination is required.
