Job Summary

As a CDL A Local Truck Driver at Performance Foodservice, you will play a critical role in delivering food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner. This is a unique opportunity to join a team that values professionalism, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on local routes to deliver food and food-related products to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety checks to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Load and unload products from trailers, and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Verify delivery of products with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required, and load customer returns onto trailers.
  • Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and/or secured.
Requirements
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL A license.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift.
