Position Summary
As a Nocturnal Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in the care and treatment of our patients during overnight shifts. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform animal restraint and triage for incoming patients
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples
- Conduct diagnostic imaging and manage nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases
- Administer medications and communicate treatment plans effectively with clients
- Assist in surgical preparations and monitor anesthesia
This position requires commitment to 12-hour overnight shifts, which may include weekends.
- Shifts may vary between 8 pm - 8 am and 10 pm - 10 am.
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates who possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary care is required; certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred.
- Availability for weekend shifts.
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Excellent customer service skills and precise communication abilities.
- Knowledge of preventative care and surgical procedures.
- Proficiency in laboratory sample collection and processing.
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively.
- Skills in anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
- A proactive approach to professional development.
Candidates should be prepared for the following:
- Extended periods of sitting or standing while performing job duties.
- Exposure to various animal species and potential hazards.
- Occasional need to work beyond 40 hours per week based on client needs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
