Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Operations Manager to lead our non-hazardous soil treatment facility in Connecticut. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and directing the activities of the facility, developing and executing business development and sales strategies, and overseeing operations and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall operations of the facility, including profit and loss responsibility, processing and recycling operations, maintenance, and staff utilization.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, transportation logistics, and overall profitability.
  • Develop and execute business development and sales strategies to build the facility's market position.
  • Manage a team of managers, supervisors, and hourly facility processing staff, including laborers, scale operators, thermal plant board operators, equipment operators, administrative staff, and technical support roles.
  • Work in partnership with the safety and environmental team to ensure a safe, environmentally compliant, and healthy work environment.
  • Generate reports for senior management and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Recommend new work practices, coordinate data flow, control expenditures, and recommend equipment upgrades or replacement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental/industrial engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or business management.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental or facility operations, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others and motivate and lead teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Strong background in thermal combustion processes, electrical and mechanical aptitude, and chemistry.
  • Knowledgeable of Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations and ability to identify and interpret RCRA hazardous waste applicability.
  • Problem-solving skills, creative thinker with ability to consider 'out of the box' solutions.
