We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to be part of our team at S.E. Smith and Sons.

About the Job

As one of our Diesel Mechanics, you will play a vital role in the shop with diagnosing issues, making necessary adjustments, completing repairs on removing and replacing all light, medium, and heavy-duty parts - and much more. We work on a wide variety of trailers and forklifts, including commercial and fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair light, medium, and heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
  • Perform BIT & DOT Inspections.
  • Remove and replace parts as needed.
  • Complete various trailer repairs and fabrication.
  • Welding (if qualified).
  • Brakes and adjustment.

Requirements
  • Sensitive to deadlines and detail-oriented in your work.
  • Strong communication skills with co-workers and the management team.
  • Previous experience in diesel repair.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and repairing trucks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • ASE Certified (not required but a beneficial qualification).

Estimated salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
