Job Summary:
We are looking for a Recreation Therapist to provide specialized recreation therapy services to patients in correctional facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing recreation therapy programs, evaluating patient needs, and participating in interdisciplinary treatment teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement recreation therapy services to promote social interaction, encourage beneficial leisure time utilization, and provide preparation for reentry into general population or other levels of treatment.
- Participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) and coordinate services with primary clinicians, correctional counselors, and other custody personnel.
- Evaluate recreation therapy needs for patients with particular attention to activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and positive coping strategies.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
- Experience in recreation therapy, preferably in a correctional setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

AvaMed Workforce offers a competitive salary range of $54-$60 per hour, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. We also provide opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and supportive work environment.
