We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and testing of biotech instrumentation and scientific instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and instrumentation for biotech and scientific applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement product designs
  • Lead the planning, documentation, prototyping, and testing of designs
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure technical updates on manufactured components and troubleshoot issues
  • Support the development of systems requirements and specifications for new and existing products
Requirements
  • Experience with mechanical and electromechanical systems design with Solidworks or other 3D CAD tools
  • Experience with medical device or scientific instrument design and development
  • Experience with precision applications, such as mechatronics, precision motion, robotics, and fluidics
  • Experience with mechanisms, robotics, and moving mechanical systems
  • Experience with tolerance stack-ups and/or GD&T
Preferred Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead and plan projects
