Job Summary

Akebono Brake Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials throughout our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing identifying information and counting, weighing, or measuring items.
  • Check materials for accurate labeling, quantity, and paperwork.
  • Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to move shipments from the shipping and receiving area to storage or work areas.
  • Pull carts to pick up materials in the raw materials supermarket and deliver them to production lines.
  • Affix shipping labels and identification labels on items as required.
  • Process computer transactions for incoming, outgoing, and inter-plant moves in MAPICS and Future 3 as required.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Route items to departments.
  • Ensure outgoing shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintain good housekeeping throughout materials storage areas.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • May be required to train others.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of two years working in a manufacturing materials department.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Two years experience entering computer-based transactions.
  • Three years Forklift driving experience and a current certification.
