Position Overview:

The Packaging Line Technician is responsible for operating machinery within the packaging line while strictly following safety protocols to ensure the production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret job specifications to ascertain necessary machine adjustments and material needs.
  • Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths based on measurements or templates.
  • Monitor machine operations to identify product defects or mechanical issues.
  • Inspect products for inconsistencies or abnormal appearances to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery.
  • Assist fellow operators in machine setup and other tasks to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Operate the packaging line effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned related to the role.
Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • High school diploma or GED; or at least one month of relevant experience in a related field; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from ground level; heavier items should be lifted with assistance or equipment.
  • Capable of performing physical activities that involve extensive use of arms, legs, and the entire body, including bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
