Responsibilities:

  • Perform licensed hygiene procedures, including dental cleanings, x-rays, and periodontal therapy.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, health, and disease, as well as procedures and services offered.
  • Verify and document patient health history and provide personalized care recommendations.
  • Perform clinical hygiene functions, including exposing and evaluating diagnostic x-rays, taking and recording blood pressure, and co-assessing possible restorative treatments with the doctor.
  • Determine patient needs and perform sealant placement, Arestin, and fluoride treatments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Dental hygiene certification from an accredited dental hygiene school.
  • Current hygiene license where employed.
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training as required by law.
  • Experience with dental software.
