Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Engineer to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of specialized electrical, mechanical-HVAC and clinical repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance activities for all AMG buildings and practice sites, including electrical tasks, plumbing repairs, and HVAC system maintenance.
  • Respond to emergency requests for service, including snow and ice removal and emergency repairs.
  • Coordinate work activities with requesting entities and maintain accurate records of routine service, preventive maintenance, and special projects.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, plus training required for stationary engineers license.
  • Three years of experience working with boilers, pumps, H.V.A.C. systems, and associated equipment in a large institution or major facility.
  • Current City of Chicago, City of Elgin, or National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers (NIULPE) stationary engineers license, and current State of Illinois driver's license.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to travel, walk, climb, push, pull, bend, and reach, and work in extreme cold or hot working conditions and confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, and use patient handling equipment when necessary.
