Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Authorization Coordinator to enhance our exceptional team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all facets of insurance verification and authorization processes, with a primary emphasis on surgical authorizations, VISCO injections, DME, and MRI benefit verification.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from patients and staff.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorization/pre-certification through various communication channels.
- Initiate prior authorization processes to optimize reimbursement opportunities.
- Maintain and update patient records as necessary.
- Engage in facility committees, meetings, and training sessions.
- Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Perform additional clerical and administrative tasks as required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a certified medical office training program is preferred.
- Basic understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the surgical authorization process is required.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records, particularly Athena, is preferred.
