Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at BSB Construction Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, or overhauling mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment used in the construction field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance
  • Repairing and/or replacing damaged or worn parts
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
  • Scheduling maintenance for machines and equipment and keeping equipment service records
  • Welding or soldering broken parts and structural members
  • Fabricating needed parts or items from sheet metal
  • Researching and ordering parts for services and repairs
  • Adjusting, maintaining, and repairing or replacing subassemblies
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Overhauling and testing machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
  • Fitting bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment
  • Testing mechanical products and equipment after repair to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications

Requirements:

  • Verifiable experience as a diesel mechanic including the ability to troubleshoot
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with other mechanics, machine operators, crew leaders and external contacts
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record required, CDL preferred but not required
