A Patient Care Assistant II (Per Diem) is required for a specialized unit focusing on Pulmonary and Infectious Disease Acute Care. This role necessitates both Nursing Assistant I and Nursing Assistant II certifications.
Unit Description:
This unit comprises 31 beds dedicated to delivering advanced acute care for individuals with pulmonary and infectious diseases. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art telemetry and continuous monitoring systems, providing care for patients with various conditions, including HIV, respiratory diseases, and cystic fibrosis.

Team Dynamics:

Position Details:
This is a Per Diem position, requiring a commitment to work a minimum of 12 hours every two weeks, with rotating day and night shifts. General hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekend and holiday rotations. Attendance at a mandatory weeklong orientation is required.
Orientation Schedule:
- Monday & Tuesday: Virtual with a 10 AM mandatory WebEx
- Wednesday: 8 AM to 10 AM Virtual and in-person from 1 PM to 5 PM
- Thursday & Friday: Virtual
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility.
- Measure and document vital signs, height, and weight, and assist with various clinical tasks such as specimen collection and wound care.
- Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Reinforce patient education provided by registered nurses or physicians and document patient comprehension.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry and maintaining a clean work environment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current certification as Nursing Assistant II with the relevant state board.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications.
- Minimum of six months of related experience in nursing assistance.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English, along with basic computer skills.
