Job Title: Physical Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at NavitsPartners in Hartford, SD.

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist will evaluate and provide treatment to patients with various physical conditions to improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent disability. This role involves collaborating with healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans and help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Assessment:
    • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical conditions and review medical history to develop tailored treatment plans.
    • Use diagnostic tests and observations to assess patient progress and modify treatment programs as needed.
  2. Treatment Planning and Implementation:
    • Design and implement physical therapy programs to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and function.
    • Administer exercises, stretches, massages, or other physical therapy interventions based on the patient's condition.
    • Educate patients and their families on proper exercise techniques, safety precautions, and home therapy programs.
  3. Progress Monitoring and Documentation:
    • Record and document patients' progress, treatments, and outcomes in accordance with clinic policies and professional standards.
    • Adjust treatment plans as patients progress or as new issues arise.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  4. Equipment and Modalities:
    • Utilize physical therapy equipment, such as resistance bands, treadmills, weights, and electrical stimulation devices.
    • Instruct patients on the safe and effective use of assistive devices like crutches, walkers, or wheelchairs.
  5. Patient Education and Safety:
    • Educate patients on injury prevention techniques, posture correction, and ways to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
    • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all therapy sessions.
  6. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment adjustments.
Requirements:
  • Current Physical Therapist license in the state of South Dakota.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • One year of physical therapy experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and movement of the whole body.
  • Must be able to lift and move patients, stand for extended periods, and demonstrate physical therapy exercises.
Schedule:

Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts or extended hours based on patient needs.
