About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team at Kleinfelder. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our transportation projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
  • Communicate with contractors, owners, and stakeholders to resolve any issues or concerns
  • Document and report on construction progress, including quantities and quality of work
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Conduct field tests and sampling to verify material specifications
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members as needed
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation construction, including paving, surveying, traffic signals, and road or bridge construction and maintenance
  • Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications and construction project documentation procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some education or training in civil engineering, construction technology, or related field preferred
  • Industry and VDOT certifications preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid State Driver's License required
