About the Role

Betances Health Center is seeking an experienced HIV Disease Management Specialist to provide high-quality care to our HIV patients and manage common and complex diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose patients, suggest treatment, prescribe and administer medications, immunizations, and non-surgical treatments.
  • Maintain a clinic panel of HIV patients and other patients requiring infectious disease oversight.
  • Prescribe and administer medication, therapy, and specialized medical care.
  • Explain procedures, discuss test results, and prescribed treatments with patients, and monitor their conditions and progress.
  • Provide health and wellness advice, order screenings, and immunize patients against preventable diseases.
  • Adhere to documentation and quality standards set by New York State and the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Refer patients to other medical specialists when necessary.
  • Maintain relationships with back-up hospitals and professionals, including admitting privileges.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited medical or osteopathic school with an MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Residency program and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • NYS licensure as a physician (MD or DO) in good standing, board certification in Internal Medicine, and compliance with American Board of Internal Medicine and American Academy of HIV Medicine requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills, as well as bilingualism (Spanish or Chinese) and computer proficiency.
  • A demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse clinic staff, establish rapport with patients, and provide quality health care services to a diverse community.
  • A valid DEA number for prescribing medications, knowledge of and experience with HER and other office technology, and analytical skills in determining best treatment plans.

We offer a competitive salary range of $200,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
