Position Overview: The Facilities Operations Chief is accountable for diagnosing aircraft issues and executing corrective measures. This role holds the ultimate responsibility for the standard of maintenance work and turnaround time, playing a crucial part in maintaining a professional image to our clientele.

Team Leadership: This position supervises a team of technicians and/or shop personnel in the upkeep of specific aircraft types, ensuring successful maintenance operations, adherence to deadlines, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage manpower allocation and oversee hours charged to tasks.
  • Ensure consistent application of safe work practices across all aircraft jobs and within the shop environment.
  • Supervise technicians in aircraft maintenance tasks, evaluating performance, recommending salary adjustments, and recognizing or addressing crew member conduct.
  • Delegate work assignments based on scheduled deadlines and the technical skills of team members.
  • Provide technical direction to technicians regarding aircraft maintenance configurations, service bulletins, directives, and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with management to pre-plan work scopes for aircraft, including manpower deployment, parts procurement, and customer debriefing.
  • Document additional findings and issues identified during inspections.
  • Communicate work status and challenges to department or project managers to ensure timely updates to customers.
  • Review workbooks for sign-offs and parts discrepancies prior to closing inspections.
  • Conduct final inspections to guarantee aircraft cleanliness and readiness for departure.
  • Ensure crew members receive adequate training on assigned aircraft and are scheduled for ongoing technical training.
  • Work collaboratively with other Crew Chiefs or departments to facilitate cross-training on various aircraft.
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance efficiency, quality, and turnaround times.
  • Uphold and promote safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards within the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of seven years of experience as an A&P Mechanic in corporate aviation, specifically with Embraer aircraft.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks to achieve high-quality maintenance within set timeframes.
  • Proven problem-solving skills utilizing technical data and team input.
  • Willingness to work outside regular hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in using various tools and equipment, including computers and telecommunication devices.
