Position Overview

The MIG Welding Specialist will be responsible for the assembly, fabrication, and repair of steel components utilizing advanced gas metal arc welding techniques and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembles, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials by employing suitable welding methods.
  • Interprets technical drawings, specifications, and schematics to ascertain the correct welding procedures.
  • Evaluates finished welds to ensure structural integrity.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • May prepare materials and set up welding equipment or robotic systems.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or formal training in the specialty area may be required.
  • Contributes to safety and quality initiatives by following established guidelines and processes.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Work Schedule
  • Second Shift - 3:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m.
  • Additional shift premium pay available for second shift.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficient in operating forklifts and cranes.
  • Able to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Skilled in using various hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
  • Competent in utilizing measuring instruments like tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Capable of converting fractions to decimals and vice versa.
  • Ability to convert metric measurements to imperial.
  • Delivers high-quality work to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adept at setting up and operating multiple processing machines.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must successfully complete a MIG welder certification.
  • Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for extended periods.
  • Capable of walking 2-5 miles during the shift.
  • Good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses is required.
  • Must maintain dexterity and coordination in hand and finger movements to handle and manipulate objects accurately.
