The MIG Welding Specialist will be responsible for the assembly, fabrication, and repair of steel components utilizing advanced gas metal arc welding techniques and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembles, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials by employing suitable welding methods.
- Interprets technical drawings, specifications, and schematics to ascertain the correct welding procedures.
- Evaluates finished welds to ensure structural integrity.
- Adheres to all safety regulations and protocols.
- May prepare materials and set up welding equipment or robotic systems.
- Completion of an apprenticeship or formal training in the specialty area may be required.
- Contributes to safety and quality initiatives by following established guidelines and processes.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.
- Second Shift - 3:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m.
- Additional shift premium pay available for second shift.
- Proficient in operating forklifts and cranes.
- Able to read and interpret basic blueprints.
- Skilled in using various hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
- Competent in utilizing measuring instruments like tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Capable of converting fractions to decimals and vice versa.
- Ability to convert metric measurements to imperial.
- Delivers high-quality work to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Adept at setting up and operating multiple processing machines.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Must successfully complete a MIG welder certification.
- Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training is preferred.
- Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for extended periods.
- Capable of walking 2-5 miles during the shift.
- Good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses is required.
- Must maintain dexterity and coordination in hand and finger movements to handle and manipulate objects accurately.
