About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at TransForce. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine maintenance and repair work on vehicles, adhering to our company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repair work on vehicles, including tire maintenance, fulfilling service calls for repair, and conducting visual inspections of vehicles.
  • Handle more advanced issues and problems, and refer complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles, including parts and supplies used.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, safety maintenance inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
  • Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
  • Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred).
  • Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire).
  • State inspection license (if required).
  • ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program within 1 year (expected to have 3 ASE within 12 months of hire).
  • Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 3 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
Working Conditions
  • Maintenance Shop environment with dust, dirt, and grease conditions.
  • Ability to work under all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a crouched position or on back, lying on mechanic's creeper, beneath motor vehicle equipment.
