Job Summary

Provide support to the daily activities of a medical office by performing various duties and tasks as assigned. This role is responsible for assisting with patient care, administrative tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care, including rooming patients, collecting assessment data, and preparing patients for examination.
  • Support medical staff with examination, treatment, and other clinic procedures.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures, screening tests, and quality improvement projects.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and initiate triage slips as needed.
  • Schedule appointments and enter data into the computerized scheduler.
  • Conduct reminder calls to patients and greet and direct visitors.
  • Register patients, verify records, and make necessary changes in the computer system and patient charts.
  • Coordinate referrals, collect payments, and prepare patient charts.
  • Maintain and order supplies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP.
  • Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Current CMA certification through AAMA or RMA certification through AMT or CCMA certification through NHA.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.
  • Medication injection training and pharmacology competency.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include manual dexterity, lifting and transferring patients, and standing for long periods. The employee must be able to exert 10-25 pounds of force frequently and 25-50 pounds occasionally.
