Position Overview:

As a part of our esteemed Nurse Residency Program at Cleveland Clinic, you will embark on a transformative journey, whether you are a recent nursing school graduate or transitioning from another specialty. This program is designed to enhance your skills and knowledge through dedicated support and mentorship.

Program Highlights:

Throughout your residency, you will collaborate with our Success Coach team, comprising specialized nursing development professionals. They will be readily available to assist you in your growth as a caregiver, providing support in various formats including in-person and virtual interactions.

Patient Care Environment:

In our post-surgical care unit, you will care for patients recovering from various surgical procedures, including endocrine, orthopedic, renal, and gastro surgeries. With a supportive team, including Patient Care Nurse Assistants (PCNAs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), our average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6, ensuring a conducive environment for quality care.

Responsibilities:
  • Engage in a core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Deliver direct nursing care under established protocols.
  • Adjust priorities for patient care based on acuity and preferences.
  • Maintain interventions to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Respond proactively to health risks and initiate corrective actions.
  • Seek guidance when necessary to ensure safe practice.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
