Peer Navigator

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Navigator to join our team. As a Peer Navigator, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with opioid use disorder who are recently released from incarceration.
Key Responsibilities- Connect participants with resources for health insurance, medical care, and behavioral health services.
- Coordinate with the ECOP Bridge Team to facilitate rapid connection to Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and intake with local community providers.
- Build relationships with local agencies and advocate for participants to access healthy behaviors and social networks.
- Collaborate with partner peers to provide continued recovery support and coordination.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification in Virginia.
- Prior experience in a peer recovery role with a proven track record of leadership or mentorship.
- Stable recovery from a substance use disorder with at least two years of sobriety.
- Commitment to promoting recovery, breaking stigmas, and uplifting the community.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Bilingual (Spanish) speaking.
- Prior experience with the carceral and legal systems.
- Collaboration with integrated teams in behavioral health, medical, or justice system partners.
