Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant

A skilled Nursing Facility in North Wales, PA has an immediate need for a Physical Therapist Assistant to join their team.

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the direction of the Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of healthcare industry guidelines and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy.
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, adherence to an established plan of care, department, and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services.
  • Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
  • Act as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
  • Instruct patients, families, and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  • Clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
  • Put Patient Service First: Ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
  • Implement a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.
  • Provide individualized physical therapy treatments, including but not limited to: airway clearance techniques, integumentary repair and protection, use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities.
  • Organize and facilitate treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Current PA State Physical Therapist Assistant License.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a short-term and/or Long-term rehab.
  • Must have 1 year experience in SNF.
  • Solid knowledge of healthcare industry and related guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms.
  • Display a sense of curiosity, enthusiasm, and eagerness to understand business constraints, environment, and impact on regulation for the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Experience in strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
