Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Delivery Associate to join our team at State Electric Supply Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods within our warehouse and to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Drive and operate a 26' box truck or delivery van to transport goods to customers and between warehouse locations.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, loading and unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and distributing items to sales associates for processing.
  • Read customer orders, work orders, and shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
  • File requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage areas.
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer programs.
  • Assist in counting physical inventory.
  • Weigh and count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing.
  • Organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Wear proper safety equipment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year in a warehouse role (2 years preferred).
  • Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Adequate knowledge of warehouse data systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience driving delivery vehicles.
  • Possesses physical strength necessary to lift heavy boxes and crates and move them around the warehouse.
  • Is capable of maintaining the stamina needed for long hours of physical labor.
  • Must have a strong work ethic, professional attitude, and be reliable.
  • Excellent communication skills to all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Must be well organized and a self-starter.
  • Ability to make decisions and be independent.
  • Attention to detail as well as accuracy.
  • Quick learner, great at building relationships.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
