About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Specialist to join our team at William Buck. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to our clients and stakeholders on risk management matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the primary point of contact for risk-related matters across the William Buck Group, including client and engagement acceptance, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Focus Group Leaders to enhance our risk management systems and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of quality management monitoring requirements, including ASQM1 and APES 320.
  • Provide guidance on the application of the Independence Policy and manage the annual compliance declaration process.
  • Support the non-assurance service area teams in the development, maintenance, and publishing of guidance, tools, and templates.
  • Support the development and delivery of training programs to enhance risk intelligence and embed a risk-aware mindset across the organization.
  • Manage risk registers and compliance matters, ensuring timely identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks.
  • Review and update existing policies and author new policies as required to ensure compliance with professional standards.
  • Provide general support to the CRO on ad-hoc risk-related matters.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of professional services or other relevant experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of risk management fundamentals and organizational controls and processes.
  • Knowledge of the application of standards issued by the Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards Board (APESB) is highly regarded.
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
