About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Deadstock Driver to join our team at Darling Ingredients Inc. in the Palisade, NE area. As a Deadstock Driver, you will be responsible for collecting dead hogs, cattle, and meat scraps from farm sites on a daily route. You will manage your route with an onboard computer (OBC) and keep an up-to-date paper log for compliance purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect dead hogs, cattle, and meat scraps from farm sites on a daily route.
  • Manage your route with an onboard computer (OBC) and keep an up-to-date paper log for compliance purposes.
  • Provide exceptional professional service to all customers while following all laws and regulations.
  • Keep the truck clean and complete a vehicle condition report on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Good driving record.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL driver's license.
  • Must be registered on the relevant database.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment.
  • Experience with truck hydraulics.
  • Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
  • Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to handle outside elements, summer heat, and winter cold.
  • Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally push, pull, up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequently must push, pull, move, or lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or overtime as needed.
