Rear Load Driver Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking reliable and dependable Rear Load Drivers to join our solid waste collection team at J.P. Mascaro & Sons. As a valued employee, you will operate a Rear Load trash truck in accordance with D.O.T. regulations and Company policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a truck according to established subscription routes or municipal territories, servicing all assigned customers courteously and timely.
  • Operate the truck according to local, state and federal D.O.T. observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Transport and dump municipal trash at a regulated transfer station or approved landfill.
  • Check in with dispatch to ensure all stops are picked up and obtain approval before returning to the shop.
  • Maintain any related records required, such as driver's log, route sheets, work orders, and special request work.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • May be required to fill in driving a Dump Truck, Rear Load or Front Load trash vehicle if properly trained and approved.
  • Clean out cab on a daily basis and at the end of the workday, park the vehicle in its designated spot.
  • Create a maintenance work order via the Vehicle Condition Report for the shop manager to schedule for completion.
Requirements:
  • Valid state commercial drivers license (CDL Class B or equivalent).
  • Attention to detail to prevent damage to the truck, equipment, and surrounding items.
  • Ability to sit in the truck cab for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move 75-pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, get into and out of truck cab unassisted, and perform all required Vehicle Condition Report checks/inspections unassisted.
  • Must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening.
Compensation and Benefits:

Berks pays $200 a day with a $50 weekly bonus and weighted overtime. This ranges between $60-$75K with Bonus. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k), dental insurance, disability insurance, health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, referral program, and vision insurance.

Schedule:

We offer a variety of shift options, including 10 hour shifts, 12 hour shifts, and 8 hour shifts. You will have the opportunity to work a Monday to Friday schedule with weekend availability and year-round work.
