Job Summary:

Van Metre Companies is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Associate to join our team in the Homebuilding division. The selected candidate will be responsible for processing accounts payable invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accurate coding and payment amounts, and maintaining excellent relations with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly invoices for homebuilding subdivisions and overheads, including checking invoice amounts to contract and budget, coding, obtaining appropriate approvals, and entering in the accounting system for weekly check runs.
  • Process autopay invoices via the WMS system and reconcile with the project manager regarding autopay PO's approval and completion.
  • Create and issue Admin PO's in NAV and match them to invoices when processing for payment, ensuring accurate coding and payment amounts.
  • Submit invoices that need resolution or sign-off from field staff on a weekly basis.
  • Process check requests such as county permits, employee reimbursements, and homeowner reimbursements, and match checks with invoices for weekly mailing and filing.
  • Collect lien waivers from vendors on a weekly basis if applicable.
  • Maintain an Excel schedule of outstanding invoices over budget to be reviewed with the AP Manager.
  • Assist vendors with questions regarding unpaid invoices.
  • Monthly review of vendor statements.
  • Assist in processing utility invoices for all projects, including payment processing, recording, and preparing backup for journal entry in NAV.

Requirements:

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding follow-up skills.
  • Can-do attitude with a lot of energy and a positive attitude.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and computer experience, including AP processing software and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
