As an Analog IC Design Co-Op, you will work closely with a senior engineering mentor to develop new products or evaluate new circuit concepts. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Analog and mixed-signal IC design in CMOS, BiCMOS, bipolar technologies
  • Design or modification of circuit blocks
  • Circuit simulation and verification
  • Lab testing of circuits
  • Analysis of simulation or lab results, comparison with design expectations
  • Presentation of results to other engineers
  • Participation in design reviews

To be successful in this role, you must be enrolled in a masters or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or related field for the duration of the Intern/Co-op position. Coursework focusing on analog or mixed-signal integrated circuit design is required. Proficient with Cadence IC design tools, including schematics and ADE simulation, is also necessary.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is also required.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $47.50 per hour, and for a Non-Engineering intern is USD $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
