About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Nursing Supervisor to join our team at Towne Manor East. As an RN Nursing Supervisor, you will play a vital role in coordinating resident care and supervising nursing staff.

Job Summary: The RN Nursing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that residents receive high-quality care and services. This includes verifying daily staffing and redistribution, collaborating with charge nurses, making rounds to assess resident condition, and participating in resident care committee meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify daily staffing and redistribution as necessary
  • Collaborate with all charge nurses daily to exchange information regarding resident care, resident condition, and other matters affecting resident well-being
  • Make rounds, morning and night, to assess residents' condition and give special attention to critically ill residents
  • Ensure that individual nursing care plans are followed for each resident
  • Perform medication passes and/or direct resident care as needed
  • Participate in resident care committee meetings
  • Reinforce training and orientation of nursing personnel and provide positive reinforcement
  • Answer any emergencies throughout the shift
  • Assist in assuring a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors
  • Monitor meal service on units and in dining areas to identify issues requiring intervention
  • Assist in development and implementation of nursing facility Quality Improvement Program
  • Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current registration with the professional board of nurse examiners of the State
  • Experience in the nursing field with supervisory experience in long-term care required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, and practices
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise nursing functions effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain an empathetic attitude toward residents and gain their confidence
  • Knowledge of dietetic, sanitation, and personal hygiene
  • Skill in handling and manipulating instruments and equipment
  • Able to recognize and identify symptoms and make decisions quickly in emergencies
