New York, New York, United States Neeljym Search Group Full time
Lead Actuary Opportunity

This is a unique chance to step up as a Lead Actuary overseeing two MGUs with one of the largest wholesale brokers in the world.

The Lead Actuary will report directly to the Chief Actuary Officer, who has been with the company for over 10 years and is highly enthusiastic about the company culture.

He has been promoted three times since joining in 2013, and there is a good chance that the Lead Actuary he hires could eventually take over his role as Chief Actuary Officer when he receives his next promotion.

This is a great opportunity to partner with multiple carriers on projects while working cross-functionally with Data Engineering, Underwriting, and Marketing teams to leverage AI and data analytics to improve the underwriting process and operational efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will be a credentialed actuary with experience in modeling, pricing, and ratemaking, coupled with excellent communication skills and a willingness to lead projects.

A candidate with commercial lines experience, particularly in property, would be a perfect match.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead actuarial teams to develop and implement actuarial models and strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve underwriting processes and operational efficiencies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with multiple carriers and stakeholders
  • Provide actuarial expertise and guidance to underwriting and data engineering teams

Requirements:

  • Credentialed actuary with experience in modeling, pricing, and ratemaking
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams
  • Commercial lines experience, particularly in property
