Senior Life Actuary Manager Objective
The primary goal is to deliver expert actuarial guidance and leadership in various actuarial domains such as valuation, pricing, and modeling. This role involves creating comprehensive financial reporting documents, developing new products, managing inforce operations, conducting cash flow analyses, and performing experience studies, among other responsibilities. Utilizing a range of resources, including actuarial models, software, spreadsheets, and reports, is essential. The role also emphasizes the integration of innovative methodologies into actuarial practices and encourages ongoing professional development as outlined by the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.
Key ResponsibilitiesSenior Life Actuary Manager Responsibilities
1. Supervise and evaluate monthly and annual experience studies, providing insights for modeling assumptions such as mortality, persistency, and expense factors.
2. Oversee the assessment of critical pricing assumptions for all products and ensure the design and pricing of new offerings align with corporate objectives.
3. Maintain current knowledge of competitive product offerings in the life insurance market.
4. Develop recommendations for interest rates and other non-guaranteed elements related to existing products.
5. Manage computer support for the Life Actuarial Department, including the design, programming, and execution of various software applications.
6. Stay informed about contemporary practices and procedures in Life Actuarial science to effectively fulfill job responsibilities.
QualificationsSenior Life Actuary Manager Qualifications
Required
A Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science is essential.
A minimum of five years of experience in life actuarial roles is required.
Completion of the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation is mandatory.
Preferred
Experience with actuarial modeling software is necessary, with a preference for Prophet experience.
Completion of the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation is advantageous.
This position allows for remote work from a personal residence as well as in-person opportunities.
