Position Overview:
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will engage in a variety of direct patient support activities under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include assisting patients with essential daily living activities such as bathing, eating, and maintaining personal hygiene, as well as changing bed linens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect non-invasive body fluid samples and monitor vital signs.
- Support physicians and nursing staff during procedures within your scope of practice.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including patient positioning, lifting, and turning.
- Utilize specialized equipment as needed.
- Assist patients with bedpans, urinals, or commodes and aid in ambulation.
- Deliver pre-operative and post-operative care, including the application of medical appliances.
- Accurately document blood pressure and temperature readings.
Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience in an inpatient hospital setting or critical care is also preferred.
