Manual Machinist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the precise fabrication of parts using manual lathes, mills, and other machine tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machine tools to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Measure, examine, and test completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures for each machining task.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure that parts are machined to the required specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve part quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Train and mentor junior machinists in manual machining techniques and best practices.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a manual machinist, with expertise in operating lathes, mills, and other manual machine tools.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of machining operations, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
- Excellent precision measurement skills, with the ability to maintain tight tolerances.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to achieve desired results.
- Experience with various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with complex parts and custom machining projects.
- Knowledge of CNC machinery and programming is a plus.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.

Pay Details: $26.00 to $29.00 per hour
