The successful candidate will be responsible for performing ultrasound exams for interpretation to aid in patient diagnosis. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

* Prepares patients for ultrasound exams, positioning them on examination tables according to departmental standard operating procedures.
* Explains procedures in layman's terms to relieve patient anxiety.
* Obtains pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with ultrasound exams.
* Consults with referring physicians regarding patient history and determines appropriate ultrasound exams.
* Sets up equipment to administer particular exams in a timely fashion, using settings on machines to assure accurate results.
* Performs ultrasound procedures, recognizing significance of structures visualized in the oscilloscope and differentiating artifacts from normal or pathologic processes.
* Determines need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions.
* Observes patients during entire examinations.

Requirements:

* Vocational or technical school diploma required.
* One of the following credentials required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS).
* 1-3 years of technical experience required.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $54.70-$64.18/hour.
