Position Overview

Covelo Group is in search of a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to enhance our Educational Services division. This role is ideal for professionals eager to make a significant impact on the communication skills of students within a school environment.

Role Summary

As a Speech-Language Pathologist in an educational setting, you will provide essential services to students requiring speech intervention as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaboration with parents, educators, and administrators will be necessary to create and implement effective IEPs across various schools.

Your student caseload will encompass a diverse range of ages, from kindergarten through 12th grade, depending on district assignments. You may be required to travel between multiple campuses to conduct speech evaluations and deliver therapy services. Your responsibilities will include assessing students' speech communication capabilities and progress, along with offering tailored recommendations for speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing their communication skills and academic success.

Based on each student's unique needs, you will provide customized pull-out therapy sessions designed to help them overcome speech challenges, ensuring they thrive in the classroom. Interventions may involve activities focused on developing oral motor skills, improving speech fluency, articulation, cognitive skills, listening comprehension, and oral reading abilities. These services can be delivered individually or in small group settings.

We seek a flexible SLP who is eager to collaborate with a diverse array of students, educators, therapists, and administrators. The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion, resilience under pressure, and the ability to meet the specialized needs of students requiring speech therapy.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Experience

Licensure and Certifications
  • Current state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • BLS certification
